Whether Saddam tried to buy yellowcake or not had no bearing on the threat he posed to the U.S., nor to the existence of actual weapons (as opposed to “programs,” plans to make plans to get weapons, or evil thoughts) in Iraq. The three Big Lies of this war were a) that Saddam was a threat requiring invasion; b) that the cost of invasion and occupation, in terms of money and lives, would be minimal; c) political reconstruction of Iraq would be easy.
