I don’t know if there is a cause-and-effect connection but we have seen some recent episodes of courthouse violence in this country. Certainly nothing new, but we seem to have run through a spate of courthouse violence recently that’s been on the news and I wonder whether there may be some connection between the perception in some quarters on some occasions where judges are making political decisions yet are unaccountable to the public, that it builds up and builds up and builds up to the point where some people engage in – engage in violence.

With the following:

“It causes me great distress,” the old Don said, “to see those judges who don’t show the family the proper respect. Sometimes I almost think they’ve forgetten who runs things around here.” He shook his head sadly. “I heard about some judges getting whacked recently, and I been thinking…it would be a shame if our young soldiers got ideas about teaching those judges a lesson, and, y’know, took matters into their own hands.” He shrugged resignedly. “Well, there’s hotheads in every family. Whataya gonna do about it?”

“It would be a real shame,” Gino agreed. “Still, you couldn’t really blame them…”

“Kids these days,” Tony added, “Whataya gonna do?”
