An Interesting Co-Incidence

Billie-Jo’s Jenkins foster father, Sion Jenkins, who maintains his innocence, has been tried 3 times in the UK for her murder , and has walked away a free man, with nothing proven against him.

His consective murder trials attract huge public interest in the UK, principally because a great deal of negative evidence about his character ws given in court.

The one person who wasn’t heard on the subject was his then wife, Lois Jenkins, who is interviewed at length in todays Mail on Sunday (not a paper I would normally recommend, but what’s a little rightwing vulgarity on a cold February day?)

It’s a tragic story

It may be heartless of me but to conoisseurs of lurid murder trials, it’s a doozy, so of course I couldn’t resist dipping my toe in the cesspool that is the UK popular sunday press – something all we elitist liberals do from time to time, though we’d strenuously deny it in polite company. I did come at it via The Independent, though, so my hands are clean.

One small paragraph jumped out at me:

“What worried her” [Lois Jenkins] “more was him punishing their children with a stick after attending a series of talks on the disciplining of children by a man called James Dobson, the author of Dare To Discipline which was popular in the church that they had attended in London.”

Dr Dobson, an advocate of corporal punishment for both child and animal, knows no borders.

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, washed the t-shirt 23 times, threw the t-shirt in the ragbag, now I'm polishing furniture with it.
