Especially for Our Pandagon Visitors…
Also there was much boggling at the utter tastelessness of some Dutch fashion. The Dutch have cornered the market on shiny animal prints, sequined patches on jeans and the colour orange, preferably all in one outfit, the results of which can be seen in all their glory on Queens Day in May. Would be cool if we could get some US bloggers here again, it’s the year’s best party after the munitions-fest that is New Year…
John Aravosis of Americablog arrived yesterday and we’ll be meeting for coffee this afternoon, so if you’re here in Amsterdam and are a blogger or interested in blogging, come along. We’ll have a drink and toast our absent friends Lindsay, Ezra, Amanda, Jeralyn and Nick, who are en route home to the US.
Details:
WHAT: AMERICAblog coffee hour (or whatever your cup of tea) in Amsterdam with me.
WHERE: Cafe Americain, at the American Hotel, Leidseplein 28, Amsterdam (The address of the hotel itself is Leidsekade 97.)
WHEN: Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 4:30pm. (I’m hoping that time doesn’t interfere with work for folks, let me know ASAP, otherwise we’ll stick with this time.)
Basically, I’ll just go to the front of the cafe and wait until someone walks in who recognizes me. You guys probably have a clue what I look like, just google me. And we’ll grab as big a table as we need.
See you there, I hope. You can’t miss me. I’m the penguin in the cuttlefish hat with the startling and annoying resemblance to Maureen Dowd, though I hasten to add that personality wise, I’m nothing like her at all.
