Republic of Palau in hospital
So posting may be light this week, as it was yesterday (try non-existent).
Don’t worry this is not an emergency visit: we knew she had to go into hospital for some much needed cleanup surgery to remove old scar tissue from earlier, long ago operations which lead to some nasty recurring health problems. She’s been on the waiting list since last year, it’s just the timing that was unexpected. She got a call yesterday whether she wanted the surgery *today*, as another patient had dropped out and the hospital had an operation room sitting empty otherwise.
Which forced a slight alteration of plans on our part, getting everything ready to go to hospital yesterday afternoon, me getting back from work, she packign her suitcases and all, but we made it to arrive at the hospital and being told …nothing. Nobody knew anything other than that surgery was scheduled for today, the surgeon who was supposed to come round never came and we had to threaten with leaving before we got to speak to somebody who did know what was going on, by phone. Not the best start for an operation, no matter how safe it’s supposed to be.
Anyway, Palau is supposed to go into operation now and may end up having to stay in hospital a week or so. If you want to cheer her up, leave get well wishes in the comments box or, if you’re feeling generous, take a look at her Amazon UK wishlist.
