    And about 4 o’clock a little hopeful voice will pipe up. “Tea”?

    Cue a nationwide sigh of relief and a stampede to the kettle, causing a power drain on the grid that’ll knock out the whole country.

    Now would be traditoonally British: boredom, incompetence and an unparalelled talent for disaster, all rolled up in one handy national day.
