Because my son is visiting this week I haven’t been able to do the usual idling around YouTube for standup comedy and weird commercials so instead here’s a selection of odd videos that have snuck into my favourites folder but which have yet to be posted.

What is it with cats and ice?
More cats, and some dogs, making random noises and having it interpreteted as speech by wishful, anthropomorphsing humans. Hella cute though.

Not at all funny but incredibly cool, an underwater wave passes across the surface of an undersea brine lake, at the interface between the ‘lake’ and overlying ocean. The wave is caused by pressure exerted by the ALVIN Submersible as it sits atop the ‘lake’ at a depth of approximately 2330 meters (7644 feet).
