Do you too have a secret passion for progress bars? Just for you, what may be the most meta video clip ever, from Slate V:
Bonus clip:
For those still swooning from continuity announcer Charlotte Green’s collapse in giggles on the Today programme yesterday here’s “A frankly gratuitous cutting from Engineeringtalk read by Charlotte Green, concerning larger balls, as well as shaft and nut assemblies. No, really”.
Who needs Viagra when there’s Charlotte Green? Listen at your own risk, I hereby disclaim all responsibility.

March 29, 2008 at 9:49 pmYeah, I’m in America, but was up this morning, listening to Today. WTF was up with that? Afterwards, there was this segue to an explanation why people giggle? Sounds like R4 had this tape ready just in case. Strange.

March 29, 2008 at 10:07 pmHere’s another one for your fecking merikans! hehe…. on the same page in the Telegraph there was a link to another weird story
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/03/25/wgun125.xml
Pilot’s gun goes off during landing
“A gun belonging to an American pilot accidentally went off as he was bringing a plane with 124 passengers onboard in to land […] Pilots must volunteer, take a psychological test and complete a week long firearms training program run by the government to keep a gun in the cockpit.”
My question is: if they fail the psych test for having a gun, they can still fly but not carry a gun?

April 1, 2008 at 2:57 amYou’d think a pilot would know about safety catches, planes have lots of safety catches. Guns only have one, how hard can that be?
