Sneeeeuw!

I just looked up from the keyboard and wow, it’s snowing. A lot. Great flakes of fluffy swansdown. cloaking the garden in a veil of shimmering pearl, under a solid leaden sky.

Beautiful.

Unfortunately, our camera is buggered from when I took it out in the snow last winter. And now the snow is melting, so even if the camera was OK it’s too late… so here’s an image from a series of b&w snow pictures taken last year by Dutch photographer Menno Alberts.

I’ve just let our girly cat, Sophie, out and she’s delicately picking her way through the puddles of slush. She’s a cat that would happily go out in 18th century pattens, mantua and bonnet, just like a Beatrix Potter kitten. How can a fierce feminist cat-wrangler like me have raised such a dainty little thing?

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, washed the t-shirt 23 times, threw the t-shirt in the ragbag, now I'm polishing furniture with it.
