One little bit of sunshine I’ve had lately is driving by Vons and seeing the empty parking lot. I suspect a lot of people aren’t crossing the picket line not because they support the union, but because it’s hard to get caught hurting someone you deal with regularly. The checkers have an advantage other unions don’t have. Customers know them. But with luck maybe a few extra people will remember this strike, learn something from it, and remember that crossing somebody’s picket line is a cruel act, even if you don’t know them.
