The dubious morality of the San Diego Catholic Church
Holding a funeral service for a gay man is refused, but had no problems with
the funeral service of a particularly nasty kiddie fiddler:
The Catholic Church, homosexuality and funeral rites
The San Diego Catholic Diocese cites “inconsistent with Catholic moral teaching” as its reason for denying John McCusker his due right as a practicing Catholic to be allowed services at the Immaculata Catholic Church.
Yet the Catholic church, specifically The Holy Name Church in West Roxbury, Mass., allowed a vicious predator of innocent children, John Geoghan, a full and dignified Catholic service.
McCusker was a businessman who operated an establishment for mature, consenting adults. The children raped by Geoghan were defenseless and went along with his warped motives because of his collar.
I pose this question to Bishop Brom: Exactly which of these two men is more deserving of a Catholic service and burial?

Of course, this might have something to do with the character of the bishop, bishop Brum, involved with this, who once settled a sexual harassement suit for $100,000, as AMERICAblog found out:
The Bishop settled a sexual abuse lawsuit for $100,000, while claiming that an investigation proved his innocence. Yet, rather than use that rock-solid evidence to prove his innocence and clear his good name, and the good names of other high-ranking clergy, he and the other clergy chose to pay off the young man who accused them of forcing him to have sex with them. Yes, young man.
Now, we have no way of knowing if Bishop Brom did or didn’t in essence commit date rape on this young man. You’ll have to look at the facts and try to decide that for yourself. But it is interesting, in the context of him refusing a funeral for a gay man.
