Snow Justice

Comment of the day, from the Grauniad’s otherwise dull snow coverage:

A dog jobby of elephantine proportions was on the path outside my house. I covered it with snow.Back inside I watched in disbelief then hysteria as the local smart ass school kid picked up the snow to throw it at his pal then just walked away looking at his hands.

Its the wee things that cheer you up.

Gen X-ers are the new Baby Boomers

No more proof is needed than seeing a failed cartoonist trying to claim that “Republican is the new punk”:

Bwahahahaha
Now that the art nerds and punks just became the football jocks and prom queens, a new rebel is emerging from the wilderness. They are the new anti-establishment. One minority force bands together against every other branch of government swallowed by the Democrat octopus. The last evidence of a check or balance against the popular people are now the Conservative Republicans.

While on the other side of the Atlantic a failed politician is trying to claim punk for the Tories:

To update the debate, do you prefer Blair Mark One, the builder of the Big Tent, the soft-rock leader of the first term? Or do you prefer Blair Mark Two, the punk premier who’s happy to break up the party to get what he wants? I suspect Mary Ann’s preference is for the former, while mine is for the latter. And, as with the Sex Pistols, I may not agree with a word that’s said but I have to admire the style.

In the nineties we had to suffer through politicians reliving their youth through saxophone solos with Fleetwood Mac or bringing their guitar into Downing Street 10 and jamming with Oasis. Can we now look forward to pogoing with Dave and Boris?

Capitalism fails wingnuts again

Pajamas Media is stopping its wingnut welfare programme to concentrate on a much more expensive money drain:

Bwahahahaha

As you know, last September Pajamas Media began a new initiative in Internet television called Pajamas TV. When we started with our RNC coverage from Minneapolis, we noted that we would be in a Beta Phase through the first quarter of 2009. In the last few months we have strengthened the PJTV lineup with shows covering Media Bias, Education Bias, Middle East Update, Sharia and Jihad, Powerline Report, Ask Dr. Helen, Hugh News, Poliwood, Conservatism 2.0, Economy and Finance, National Security, and others.

As the end of the first quarter approaches and we near the production phase of Pajamas TV, we will continue to build our emphasis in this area. As a result we have decided to wind down the Pajamas Media Blogger and advertising network effective March 31, 2009. The PJM portal and the XPressBlogs will continue as is.

A whole generation of spittle-flecked nutcases thought Pajamas Media would make them into the next Rush Limbaugh without ever having to leave the comfort of their basements and now the gravy train is over you can almost hear the squeels of outrage from the Cheetoos brigade on this side of the Atlantic. But take pity on the likes of Jeff Goldstein, who says “I am officially out of work” and that ” this site will likely have to shut down”. Here’s somebody who against all odds found a sugardaddy foolish enough to sponsor his hobby so that he could pretend to be an useful member of society again. And now there’s a bit of an economic crisis and suddenly there are no more investors willing to pour money in a bottemless pit on the off chance that the rantings of fifth rate shock jocks too ugly for radio would actually provide any return on investment.

How cruelly capitalism has failed them again!

Let’s get this meme out of Livejournal

It’s not as if I’m doing real posts at the moment. Excuses for the break in services these past weeks, but Palau has been ill with flu since before Christmas and I’ve been a bit busy.
