Philip K. Dick lives! As Beamjockey explains, this is the second robotic head of Philip K. Dick, the first having been lost in transit back in 2005. Hanson Robotis now has rebuild the head, stronger, better, faster and what’s more, this was supposedly done with support from Dutch broadcaster VPRO. This doesn’t surprise me; the VPRO is the kind of broadcaster that suits Dick very much, somewhat on the experimental side with not every experiment being a success.

What I’m into right now
It’s progressive rock in as far as it progresses me ever deeper into the seventies… But at least it’s a band with a genuine woman in it, somewhat rare in the spotty geek brigades of prog rock.
One step forward…
Slightly more than two weeks after her last seizure, S. had another one and is back on the ICU; prognosis is that she may possible go back tomorrow, once she’s breathing unassisted again. It’s yet another setback in what seems like a whole month of setbacks, where she slowly recovers from the last crisis only to slide back down again.. We are going to get through this, but it is frustrating and so exhausting for her, to constantly have to fight these battles.
News of Gerry Rafferty’s death was the icing on the cake. Never been a fan, but “Baker Street” is in my top ten of best songs ever and it fits my mood. It’s a late night radio song, when you’ve had slightly too much drink and your mood has swung from mellow into melancholic and all the world seems dark and lonely.
Saturday is music day
Here, have a video:
I hadn’t heard of Dearling Physique before, until Rydra Wong linked to it, but this is a great video and a good song too.
In more personal music news, last Tuesday, in the fifteen seconds between my ipod slipping out of my coat pocket and me noticing this and cycling back, some fscker must have spotted it and swiped it, as prolonged searching has gotten no result. It was only a 2GB mini ipod, once gotten as an incentive for going to a job interview I was reasonably sure I wasn’t actually going to accept if I got through, but it was my little friend and for now has left me musicless during my commute. Grumble.
One reason I never played football much
Horrible, horrible knee injuries, as happened to striker Jonathan Reis of PSV this weekend as his ligaments were torn in a collission with the opposing side’s goalie. Injuries to the knee always make me wince and this was bad enough to make you physically ill seeing it happening…
