Remember: three years ago today
We all marched against the war on Iraq.
Part of the 90,000 people in Amsterdam who demonstrated 3 years ago against the war on Iraq
It?s exactly three years ago today since the biggest demonstration in British history, when up to two million people marched through London to Hyde Park to register their opposition to the impending invasion and occupation of Iraq.
As you?ll be aware, the British media today has been full of commemorations of that important event, with chat shows and political pundits on the news talking of nothing else. Literally hundreds of people who protested on that day have been invited into studios to talk about that experience and how they feel about it in the light of the latest prisoner-abuse scandal in Iraq and the state of that country today. BBC News executives have made a heartfelt apology for misleadingly giving the impression that Saddam really did have WMDs, and for giving so little space to anti-war voices in the run up to the invasion.
