Frans Koppelaar – An Apology
A week or so ago I posted about our visit with the Amsterdam Bloggers to Prinseneisland. To illustrate the post I used a wondeful painting of the bridge onto the island by the Dutch figurative painter Frans Koppelaar. In doing so I neglected to give him picture credit – something I normally do either under the picture, with link, or at the bottom of the post.
Menheer Kopelaar was kind enough to put a polite note in comments about my lapse, rather than, as some might have done, immediately sending an unmpleasant ‘cease and desist’ letter.
He is as graceful as his paintings and I urge you to go and see them if you’d like to see what Amsterdam actually looks like to those of us that live here. I haven’t seen a contemporary painter yet that I think depicts it so well.
