    They should ALL be civil unions! The government should have no say over Marriage, which is a RELIGIOUS institution. There may be an argument for age restrictions and maybe some other technicalities, but we should set up a legal contract taking care of such details as property ownership, children, visitation rights, and such, and quit worrying about such things as sex and even number of signatories. Make sure contracts are entered in good faith and settle disputes; quit worrying about the morality of the resulting family unit, as it’s none of your business.

    I’m very much in favour of the Dutch model, where you must have a civil ceremony at the the local town hall to be permanently legally tied to somene, regardless of gender and/or orientation.

    After that any religious event or none is your own affair.
