Good for her, except for “we have a servant” thing.

The only link I’ve seen to this was one that approved, so thank you.

Any man with a goatee is automatically a douche in my opinion. I didn’t even need to see the actual video.

On the other hand, this is fairly mild, given my parent’s early reaction to the internet. I remember some shrieking about the devil, and my fleeing with a little 286 laptop to lock myself in a closed room, otherwise I’m quite sure that not only the laptop would have been smashed, I would have been as well. Incidentally I was more worried about the laptop. I knew from experience that I would heal. Laptops don’t, and the damn thing cost me an arm and a leg on minimum wage.

The next week I picked up and moved several thousand miles away, with $200 in my pocket and a shitty Ford Escort that was about to die. I’d hit my limit.

Parental domination is a terrible thing. Quite possibly what is worst about it is the sense of shame, and alienation, when you begin to realize the rest of the world is not like you. It only grows stronger with time. What I find almost as horrifying as what her father did is the way the internet is pointing and laughing and being outraged. The world will not change her father, but I guarantee that it will hurt and shape her. She’s even more vulnerable because of what has been done to her. No good comes of the pointing. She won’t be taken out of that home, and her father will not change. The pointing just makes me desperately sad.
