This makes half a dozen slop fantasy so far this season and that’s not even counting the ones I didn’t even bother watching, like Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru or Okiraku Ryoushu no Tanoshii Ryouchi Bouei: Seisankei Majutsu de Na mo Naki Mura wo Saikyou no Jousai Toshi ni. These sounded too dull to bother with even from just reading their synopsis.
Odayaka Kizoku no Kyuuka no Susume

A second gay isekai anime has hit this season! But this time the person isekaied comes from another fantasy world rather than our own: it’s the rare double isekai. Lizel is our unfortunate protagonist, finding himself in a somewhat familiar but strange city, quickly deducing he slipped worlds but not being too bothered by it. He comes across Gils, an adventurer and hires him as bodyguard and guide, deciding to become an adventurer himself. That’s basically all that happens this episode, Lizel taking a stroll across the city, hiring Gils and joining the adventure guild. With no female characters so far and a bunch of pretty boys in the ending, it’s clear that there’s a not very subtle gay undertone this. Which makes the incident where another adventurer accuses Gils of having Lizel as a boyfriend a bit strange as Lizel (jokingly) gets offended at that. Animation wise there isn’t much but nevertheless the episode was finished much quicker than I expected.
Kizoku Tensei – Megumareta Umare kara Saikyou no Chikara wo Eru

Another slightly weird reincarnation story as a peasant gets reborn as Noah, the thirteenth prince of the empire. At the usual skills selection ceremony his skills turn out to be SSS but only he can see his levels actually depend as much on having skilled subordinates. This promises a bit of realpolitik as Noah is fairly powerless despite his lofty status, prone to be a chew toy for his more powerful brothers, while he also has the kindness and ambition to alleviate some of the suffering he comes across as a prince. In this first episode he saves a flooded village from being taken over by unscrupulous investors and punishes a minor noble’s corruption in handling the emergency food handouts. Don’t expect too much of this as the politics driving the series are clearly of the “the system is fine as long as the right person is in charge” variety. Animation and character design is all adequate at best; you watch this for the plot development. Noah btw is only sic years old and has the round face and hair style of every other terrible ‘reincarnated and now overpowered as a child” anime.
29-sai Dokushin Chuuken Boukensha no Nichijou

Hajime is a 29 year old adventurer who has worked as one since he was an orphan child one day stumbles over a small blonde girl in the local dungeons. It turns out Rirui was abandoned by her parents, so he takes it up himself to bring her to his village. Because the local orphanage cannot take care of her, he ends up taking her in, which is where his troubles begin. Not only doe she now needs to train her as an adventurer, during the night she turns into an adult, which means she’s not quite as human as she looks… This series is on the more humorous side and animation wise is the best looking of this lot, actually having a bit of personality to it.
